2) Prizes & Awards (cumulative, max 5)

  • Crombie Medal (FRCOphth Part 1 1st): 3 pts. National undergraduate exam: 3 pts (1st), 2 pts (top 10%), 1 pt (top 20%). Year-firsts (non-intercalated): 2 pts each. Lead research grant leading to substantial peer-reviewed output: 1 pt each. Best presentation/poster at national/international: 1 pt each (max 2 via this line).

3) Multi-Source Feedback (MSF) (max 2)

  • Within 18 months of interview if in clinical posts; GP ≥5 respondents, hospital ≥7; supervisor-signed or TAB printout. Satisfactory scores + good comments = 2 pts.

4) Quality Improvement / Audit (max 5)

  • Upload best QI/audit within last 3 years + supervisor letter confirming your specific role; points depend on role/impact (see scale).

5) Presentations (cumulative, max 6)

  • Original work only; accepted (not yet presented) counts. Oral scores full, posters score half; 1st-author default. Second-author oral scores half only if you presented; second-author posters don’t score. One meeting per piece of work.

6) Publications (cumulative, max 6)

  • Peer-reviewed original research or high-quality systematic reviews; 1st author = 3 pts each; 2nd–4th author = 1 pt each (if ≤8 total authors; no score for 5th+). Provide first page or “in press” proof if applicable.

  • 0.5 pts each (max 2 via this line): help run ≥1 course (more than one session), ≥2 mock OSCE sessions, e-learning tool, e-book, “teaching the teachers”, formal undergraduate examining role. 1 pt: ≥3 formal sessions across ≥3 months with feedback. 2 pts: PGCert/Dip MedEd (≥60 credits / ≥8 months, separate from primary degree). 2 pts: chapter in postgraduate academic book; 3 pts: author of postgraduate book.
