1) Peer-reviewed theses in medical science (awarded)

  • Examples: DPhil, PhD, MD (research), MCh, MS with significant thesis (≥2y FT or equivalent) and oral exam.
  • Exclusions: basic medical degree MD/MS without thesis; intercalated/automatic degrees.

  • Submitted within one year with evidence of progress toward award.

3) MSc or equivalent postgraduate degree (no orally examined thesis)

  • Awarded after your primary medical degree; not primarily a research thesis.

4) First-author peer-reviewed papers / first-author book chapters

  • ‘Formally accepted’ counts. Abstracts do not.
  • Must have a PMID or equivalence (Urology journal on the Urology Green List accepted without PMID).
  • Case reports are not counted in this question.
